Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer

URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER CONCEALER

Formulated to have a matte finish, this full coverage concealer promises to control shine and cover imperfections for 24 hours. It retails for $29 (0.12 oz), and comes in 14 shades ranging from fair to extra deep.

Application is smooth, but it’s not as creamy as their Naked Skin Concealer. The formula blends easily without fuss, but it has a noticeably dryer texture than I’m used to. It provides medium-to-full coverage, and blends best with a dampened sponge or synthetic brush.

I have never tested this for 24 hours, but it does wear nicely for about 1o to 12. Depending on how dry my skin is, I don’t typically notice creasing, but since the formula is matte it’s not something I’d normally reach for.

SWATCHES

Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer

When it comes to Urban Decay, I’m always in-between shades. For my under eyes, I prefer to brighten, so I usually reach for Light Warm. However, that’s far too light for blemishes, so for that I reach for either Light Medium Warm or Neutral. Sometimes, I’ll even mix the two. They aren’t that different, so there is some wiggle room when guessing on shades.

All Nighter v. Naked Skin applicator

One warning with these concealers, is they will oxidize. For that reason, I use the warmer shades very sparingly. When first applied, they look like a perfect match, but an hour or so later, you will notice a hint of pink – so keep that in mind!

Like most product lines, there’s a ton of fair to medium shades, and only a few dark to deep. Honestly, the middle four are so similar, they could have removed a few, and focused more on expanding the range. Let’s hope that happens in the near future!

NAKED CONCEALER VS. ALL NIGHTER

For years, my Urban Decay concealer of choice was Naked Skin. So, how does their OG superstar compare to this new formula? For my dry/combo skin, I thought for sure I’d prefer the more luminous finish of Naked Skin, but after using All Nighter for a week I’m totally sold on it!

To really compare the two, I did multiple wear tests using each concealer under each eye. Every single day I noticed the under eye with All Nighter had better coverage, with longer lasting results. While Naked Skin is still amazing, the finish doesn’t cover as much, and at the end of the day my dark circles were on full display.

Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer

My one complaint, is the formula of All Nighter is a bit dryer than I like. It doesn’t glide onto my under eyes like Naked Skin, but once you warm it up, the finish is stunning. It’s matte without being flat, so it’s flattering, and surprisingly it never feels cakey.

Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer

Whether you’re dry like me, or deal with pesky oily patches, this concealer is a great choice. It photographs beautifully, wears all day, and covers tired under eyes like a boss. I’m obsessed, and definitely approve of this new formula!

Have you tried the new All Nighter concealer? I’d love to know!
