Happy Friday! Today’s post is a little different than usual, rather than featuring a Face of the Day, I thought it would be fun to talk about some of my recent makeup and beauty favorites. I’ve been testing a lot of new products lately, so I don’t have many makeup items to talk about, but I’ve got some great beauty finds to discuss!
Oribe Après Beach Waves and Shine Spray – I received this little guy in my July Birchbox, and I absolutely love it! It has a fabulous scent, and it gives my wavy hair great volume and texture. Lately, I’m all about the messy bed head look (I’m sure you’ve noticed my Carrie Bradshaw-esque hair in recent looks). At $39 this isn’t cheap, but I will definitely buy a full size once this one is empty!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lotion – This lightweight lotion is a less intense version of the Ultra Repair Cream. In the summer, my skin requires less hydration (thanks to the 80% Florida humidity). So, instead of slathering on thick creams, I’ve been loving this easy to blend formula. The texture is thin, but it’s still hydrating, and it leaves my legs feeling soft and silky.
Yes to Coconuts Lemongrass Liquid Hand Soap – This is a random non-beauty favorite, but I had to throw it in. I’m a frequent hand washer, so I rely on formulas that are gentle. This soap smells delicious, foams nicely, and has thick creamy texture. Best of all, it does not dry out my sensitive hands! If you’re looking for a chemical free hand soap, I highly suggest this. It even works great on my 2-year old daughters hands!
Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dy Shampoo – This is another sample from a beauty box, and I adore it! It’s the only dry shampoo I have tried that doesn’t leave white marks all over my hair. Plus, it smells beautiful and it doesn’t leave behind a weighed down or gunky feeling on my roots. This is another expensive product ($25), but I definitely plan on buying a full size!
bareMinerals Ready Bronzer in The Skinny Dip – I own a ton of bronzers, but I’ve reached for this one nearly all summer. It’s warm toned, so it gives my face a great natural looking glow. It’s not orange, or muddy, and it’s long wearing. I love it! You can see it in action, here.
Tory Burch Eau De Perfume – If you’re a fan of light citrus scents with a hint of floral, you’ll love Tory Burch. It’s a beautiful summery scent that isn’t too strong, or headache inducing, and the bottle is stunning. It reminds me an updated version of Gucci Envy Me, I suggest sniffing it out the next time you’re in Sephora!
That’s all for my tiny favorites, I hope you all have a great weekend! Let me know what products you’ve been loving lately!
So many beautiful picks! I need to try that First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lotion!
It’s so nice, you’ll love it!
I need the Oribe Wave and Shine Spray for my curly hair days! Sounds perfect! <3
It’s a great spray, I didn’t want to love it (for price reasons), but I will be so sad once it runs out!
I’ve yet to buy any First Aid since I get a lot in my subscriptions and always am happy to see them in there. I will be looking for that Yes To hand soap since I was my hands constantly.
The hand soap is so nice! I randomly picked it up at Walgreens, and now it’s all I use!
I want the Yes Coconut Lemongrass Hand Soap. I can smell it from here!
It’s SO nice! I wish there was a smell through the internet technology lol
I really need to try Oribe!
Now that I’ve tried this spray, I want to try so much more! Which is dangerous considering the price lol
The bare Minerals bronzer looks great (and I’m not even a bronzer girl!)
It’s so easy to wear!
You live in FL too?? The humidity here is insane, right?! That First Aid Beauty lotion looks amazing.
Yep, I’m in South Florida (Broward County) and the humidity has been insane – ick! The FAB line is my favorite, everything they make is great!
I have that Tory Burch and love it too. To me, it’s the adult version of Clinique Happy
Oh yes, that’s a good comparison too!
Great stuff! That hand soap sounds divine 🙂
It is! and it’s only about $4 at Walgreens!
I tried First Aid Beauty from a beauty box and loved it!
It’s so hydrating, I love it!
First Aid Beauty stuff seems to be so popular right now x
I discovered the line about three years ago, and I’ve been obsessed ever since!
Oooh lovely picks! I really want to try First Aid Beauty, I keep hearing such good things about their products. The handwash sounds lovely, and the Tory Burch perfume bottle is so pretty & sounds like a gorgeous scent too <3

I adore First Aid Beauty, it’s the only skincare line I’ve been loyal to for the last 3 years!
All of these products look and sound amazing! I really want to give that First aid Beauty Repair Lotion and Tory Burch Perfume a try. This month I have been loving the NYX Matte Setting Spray – I picked this up at IMATS London a few months ago and I first tried it out whilst at a Festival. I have been completely blown away by it and that fact that is is so reasonable too!

I haven’t tried any of these products. The bronzer looks like a lovely shade! I’m into bronzers at the moment even though fall is like almost here 😀

I also want to try First Aid Beauty, I saw it is so popular and I’ve heard good things about it. During cold months I always have a bit of eczema :((( I think I will order this lotion right about now. Great box! Enjoy it :* xoxox Elena from Beauty Magic Box
Your photos are so dreamy, Julie! Id love to try the Oribe spray. I’ve been using their dry thickening one and its brilliant so I’d love to see how others from the line compare xxx
Nice list! the first aid beauty sounds really nice 🙂
How do you usually use the Oribe spray? I got the same one in my Birchbox and I’m not seeing the results I would expect from a brand like Oribe.
I totally missed this comment from you, so sorry! I use the Oribe spray in my dry hair, then scrunch it, and it creates awesome beachy texture. I think it helps that my hair is already wavy/messy to begin with lol
No worries! My hair is pretty straight naturally. I’ll try that. Thanks, Julie!
