I’m a stay at home mom by day, and makeup loving beauty blogger by night! For years, I was the one my friends and family came to for beauty advice. After seeing how my suggestions helped others, I was encouraged to start this blog, and it’s been one of my best adventures yet! Whether you’re a makeup novice, or a full fledged beauty addict, I hope you find my site helpful and informative!
HOW I GOT STARTED
Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved to write. Coming from a family of published authors, it’s not hard to see where that passion came from. In 2009, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and began working as an Events Assistant. However, my real passion was makeup, skin care, and anything beauty related. I spent hours researching new products, learning the science behind skin care, and watching fellow beauty addicts share their hauls on YouTube.
In 2011, I turned my love for writing and beauty into Collective Beauty. Here, I can chat with you about makeup, hair care, skin care, and whatever else comes to mind. My ultimate goal is to create a fun and friendly atmosphere, where fellow beauty lovers can find helpful tips, and honest reviews on their favorite topics!
A LITTLE EXTRA ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in central New Jersey, but spent a few years in North Carolina and Florida while my husband was active duty military. He’s since retired, and we are back in our home state raising our two kids – a daughter (6), and son (3). The past few years I’ve been open and honest about my struggles with miscarriage, postpartum body image, and the hardships of motherhood. What we see online is a highlight reel, so my goal is to be a mom everyone can relate to. Messy bun and all! 😉
