It’s been a while since I talked about Skinfix, but they are one of my favorite skincare lines! I discovered the brand about three years ago when they randomly sent me products (they were not well known then), and I’ve been obsessed ever since. I’ve purchase many of their products on my own, but I was fortunate to receive this bundle via PR. Many of my go-to favs have sadly been discontinued (boo!), so I’ve got these new goodies to rave about!
SKINFIX
What I love about Skinfix is their promise to provide clean products that actually work to treat dry skin. You’ll see tons of Allure Best of Beauty seals on the packaging, and for good reason. Their lotions and treatments actually do provide relief from dry skin – and trust me I’ve got REALLY dry skin so I’ve tried it all. Not included in their products are a slew of nasties including mineral oil, parabens, sulfates, colorants, heavy metals, and tons more. You can read all about their clean list, and the ingredients they leave out here.
Skinfix is the first clean skincare brand that takes the category to a completely new level of clinical efficacy. Skinfix works with dermatologists and holistic chemists to identify key combinations of clinically active pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical ingredients that can target skin concerns and promote skin barrier wellness”
I love knowing that the products I’m using all over my body are safe, as well as effective. Our skin is our largest organ, and what we put on it does get absorbed into our blood stream. So choose wisely!
ECZEMA HAND REPAIR CREAM
The very first product I fell in love with from this brand is their hand cream. To say my hands are dry is an understatement. I constantly hand wash, and my hands take a real beating. They are often cracked and scaly in the winter, so I need something hydrating but also very gentle. There is nothing worse than applying lotion to cracked hands and having that product burn and irritate your already irritated skin. Ouch!
Thankfully this product never causes reactions, and while the texture is thick it absorbs quickly. There is no scent (fragrance is not your friend when it comes to dryness), and it doesn’t leave behind a greasy or heavy feeling. I’ve been through countless tubes of their previous hand cream (Ultra Rich Hand Cream), and was so bummed to learn they had discontinued it. That one had silver packaging, and a light cucumber scent. Though the scent never bothered my skin. The new blue tube has the same great formula, but the scent is gone, and the texture is a tad thicker it seems. Still the end result is the same, and that’s smooth skin that’s no longer cracked and painful.
BARRIER+ FOAMING OIL CLEANSER
I adore this cleanser! I keep it in my shower, and use it every single morning for AM cleansing. Although the name states it’s an “oil” it’s actually very foamy and develops into a rich lather. It doesn’t strip my skin, and it leaves it feeling super soft and clean. I have had amazing skin this pregnancy, with zero breakouts, and I definitely credit this!
Like my body, my face also deals with dry skin issue. One dermatologist called it rosacea, while another said it was like the eczema I get on my body. Either way it causes redness, little red bumps, and can even be itchy. Many products can make my cheeks appear way redder than normal, so I was happy this gentle cleanser doesn’t make my skin react. In fact, it actually calms down the redness. I’ve been using this for over a year, so I know it’s not just beginners luck either!
BARRIER+ LIPID BOOST BODY CREAM
My all time favorite body lotion was the Skinfix Daily Lotion. It came in a pump bottle, and my skin drank it up. It absorbed quickly, never felt greasy, and while it was quite light in texture it hydrated so well. Then it was discontinued – why does that always happen 😥 I talked about how bummed I was about that on Instagram, and thats when Skinfix reached out and offered to send me the Lipid Boost Body Cream.
If you go on the Skinfix website it will tell you what new products replaced their old ones. While this technically used to be the the Calm & Nourish Body Cream, it reminds me lot of the Daily Lotion. It’s just as hydrating and light, and it really nourishes my skin. It doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, and my dry areas instantly become smooth. It also really helps to combat dry skin itchiness.
I also really love the tub packaging. You can get every ounce of product out, whereas the pumps were a little finicky toward the end. However, the major difference between this and my beloved Daily Lotion is the price. This one will set you back $45, while the Daily Lotion was about half that. I admit the price of this is high, but if you suffer from dry skin you know how challenging it can be to find stuff that actually works. I must have paid double that on a slew of cheaper products that didn’t help. Plus, this baby is 10oz, so it should last quite a while.
BARRIER+ LIP REPAIR BALM
The final newbie from the Skinfix line that I’ve quickly become obsessed with is the Lip Repair Balm. This baby is SO hydrating! It reminds me a lot of their 12-Hour Miracle Ointment (now known as the 911 Ointment). It’s got the consistency of aquaphor, and really goes to work to sooth my lips. Like my legs, stomach, face, and pretty much everywhere else, my lips are also always dry. Most balms just don’t do enough, or contain iffy ingredients that make my flaky lips worse. This one contains 40% coconut oil for intense hydration, as well as jojoba oil, vitamin e and b, copper and zinc. All of that goes to work for an emollient feel and soft look to the lips.
SHOP SKINFIX
When it comes to body products I’ve tried everything. From super high end, to drugstore, and nothing has impressed me (or kept me coming back) quite like Skinfix. When I run out of my PR from them, I immediately purchase the products with my own money, so it’s not just that I get it for free sometimes. These products really are worth every penny. If dry, itchy, cracked skin ails you then you have to try Skinfix!
Be sure to let me know if you’ve tried anything from the brand, and if not then let me know what product you’d love best!
