Hey there, beauties! Welcome back to Collective Beauty! I’ve been so caught up in makeup reviews and tutorials, that I haven’t stopped to talk about my skin care favorites. In case you’re new around here, my skin is dry, sensitive, and red (thanks to rosacea). So, I’m always on the hunt for gentle products that are full of hydration. I’ve got a great line up to talk about, so let’s get to the good stuff!
FACE WASH
1// Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel ($28//5 fl oz) – When it comes to face wash, I’m all about simple. I don’t want fancy anti-agers (they just get washed down the drain), or harsh acne fighters. This gentle no-fuss cleanser from Boscia is sulfate free, and formulated for all skin types. It protects against breakouts, but doesn’t leave skin super dry. I love it!
MAKEUP REMOVER
2// Erno Laszlo Multi-Phase Remover ($55//6.8 fl oz) – I know the price is steep, but this stuff is so good! It melts away makeup in a flash, without any tugging, or greasy residue. It doesn’t sting my eyes, and it removes lash glue better than anything I’ve ever tried.
3// Eve Lom Cleansing Balm ($80//3.3 fl oz) – Another pricey product. But trust me, when it comes to cleansing balms, they are not all created equal. I’ve tried some drugstore formulas, and my face is always left with makeup and grime. This creamy balm instantly melts into your skin, and removes all traces of foundation, concealer, mascara, everything. You don’t need a lot, so one jar should last months and months.
SPF
4// Tarte Tarteguard 30 ($12-$32//0.4 fl oz – 1.7 fl oz) – If you’ve ever searched for a facial SPF that does’t feel heavy, then you know it’s a daunting task. This lightweight formula from Tarte contains a physical SPF, and is free of parabens and phthalates. It’s also dermatologist tested, vegan, and hypoallergenic. It sinks in immediately, and never feels greasy or grimy.
MOISTURIZER
5// Belief Creamy Deep Moisturizer ($38//4.22 fl oz) – I like to give new skin care products a really long test run before reviewing them. because anything can happen in the first 6 weeks or so. This hydrating moisturizer has been a part of my lineup for about two months now, and so far I’m seriously digging it. It be used day or night, and although it’s lightweight, it packs a serious punch of hydration. It’s never made my skin breakout, and it wears beautifully under makeup.
EYE CREAM
6// Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream ($26.50//0.5 fl oz) – This isn’t the greenest skin care product, but I love the way it feels on my under eyes. It’s hydrating, creamy, and never migrates into my eyes. The formula is meant to plump and brighten tired eyes, and I’d say it does just that!
BODY CARE
7// Human + Kind 2-in-1 Body Souffle ($20//6.76 fl oz) – I panicked while writing this post, because Ricky’s NYC no longer carries this product, but ULTA has saved the day. Seriously, how on point is ULTA lately?! This super hydrating body souffle is like heaven in a jar. It’s lightweight, instantly absorbs, delivers moisture, keeps itchy skin at bay, and it smells like cucumbers. At one point, I had 4 tubs of this, it’s that good! Oh, and it’s only $20. It replaced my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair cream, I’m obsessed with it!
That’s all for my current skin care favs, be sure to let me know what you’ve been loving!

Great review and thank you so much.
Glad you liked it!
I really enjoyed reading about your skincare picks because my skin has a few similarities to yours. I definitely will sample the Tarteguard SPF 30 next time I’m at Ulta or Sephora. I haven’t used anything from Laszlo in many years so I’m glad to hear that you love the makeup remover – I’ll keep it in mind. Belif has become one of my favorite skincare brands too: I use the Hungarian Water Essence, the toner from time to time, and I adore their Aqua Bomb gel-cream moisturizer. It’s all good stuff! I love Human Kind’s hand cream so I’ll take your recco and try the Body Souffle next! And yes, Ulta has really upped their game!
We do have such similar skin care preferences! I have the aqua bomb from Belif, haven’t given it a good enough run yet to really review it, but so far I like it as well!
I can’t believe I’ve never used any of these products since they all sound good. I have a feeling that the Clinique might be too light for my needs but the others would be good for my skin.
The Clinique cream is definitely a morning treatment, I use an Origins cream at night!
Love this post! I’m nosy and always like seeing what everyone is using. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Belief, but haven’t tried anything from them yet.
I am so impressed with the line! My skin is super sensitive, so it’s always nerve wracking to try new products, but this moisturizer is so gentle!
What a great post, Julie! I can’t believe that I only have the Eve Lom Cleansing Balm, but I see plenty of things that I want to try now!
That’s a great cleansing balm, I just wish it wasn’t so pricey. My wallet will hate when it’s time to repurchase lol
I think I need to try a couple of your picks!
Hope you like them 🙂
i need to try that body souffle and that eye makeup remover! i’ve always sworn by my Lancome BiFacil but you’re tempting me haha.
