Hi again, beauties! After taking a week off from blogging, I’m back to talk about a foundation that has quickly left its mark in the beauty world. The Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation was launched late last year, and based on all the rave reviews, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. So, does it really live up to all the hype? Keep reading to find out!
Retailing for $43 (0.44 oz) at Sephora and makeupforever.com, this medium to full coverage foundation was specifically designed for the “latest high definition technologies of the film and TV industry.” It comes in an easy to use stick, that can literally be drawn onto the face for fool proof application.
If its been a while since you used a Makeup For Ever foundation, finding the right shade can be a little tricky. There’s a new numbering system in place, and although they list the old numbers the new ones correspond to, I’m not sure how long that will last. So, if you were shade 120 before, you’re now shade Y245. Good luck remembering that 😉
The texture of this foundation is soft, creamy, and super easy to blend. It contains amino acid coated pigments, which provide a lightweight finish, and it’s formulated with hyaluronic spheres for time-released hydration. Meaning, it’s great for those with dry skin, it feels weightless, and it looks natural. It sounds too good to be true, but trust me this stuff rocks!
Along with its great texture, the finish is also worth bragging about. It’s described as a soft satin, which I find to pretty accurate. It’s slightly dewy, for a skin like effect, but it’s also a little matte as well. It doesn’t turn blotchy or greasy throughout the day, and although you can set it with a powder, my dry combo skin doesn’t find it necessary.
My favorite way to apply this, is with a synthetic flat top kabuki brush from Beauty Junkees. It leaves behind a full coverage finish, with only a few swipes of foundation (two on the cheeks, and one on the forehead and chin). It blends effortlessly, and covers dark spots, blemishes, and dark circles with ease.
If applied with a dampened beautyblender, the coverage is a bit more sheer, and will require more layers to achieve full coverage. But, the finish is still beautiful and natural looking. Though I do want to mention, that no matter which application method you prefer, it’s best to start slow with this and add more as needed. Otherwise, it can start to look cakey, especially if you set it with a powder.
FOUNDATION IN ACTION
In the past I’ve tried other stick foundations, and while I’ve always enjoyed the ease of use, most of them sat on top of my skin and looked heavy. However, this stick completely breaks the mold! It’s not drying on my combo skin, it doesn’t turn greasy throughout the day, and doesn’t oxidize or do anything else funky. After putting it to the test the last few months, I can say without a doubt, this stuff is worth the hype!
Have you tried this foundation? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Wow. This looks amazing on you!
Thank you! It’s been my go-to foundation lately!
I have not tried this yet. I use, and love the TOM FORD stick foundation, but this definitely looks like it is quite good as well!
Ugh, I so want to try TF this year. It’s a mission, an expensive mission, but it will be accomplished haha
First time I’ve heard about it. I’ve never tried a stick foundation but I’m so curious about it. I will look to see which shade I am next trip to Sephora. I have the Mat Velvet foundation and I’ll see what my shade was in that first.
Stick foundations are so easy to use, it makes fussing with liquid so tedious. Let me know if you decide to try this!
You have such gorgeous skin to begin with!! This does sound like a lovely product, although probably not for me as my skin is super oily! Fab review as always, thank you 🙂

Thanks, Jess! Since it works so well on my dry skin, I’m not sure it would work for you, but it may be worth a try 🙂
I’m anxious to get to a Sephora and get color matched. I’m impressed with how even and flawless your skin looks.
You look gorgeous!
Thanks, Courtney! 🙂
First of all you look amazing, but what I’m most excited about is that it’s great for dry skin! Sometimes stick foundations just look so bad on my dry areas!! I’ll have to remember this one!
Yes!! I’ve tried sticks from other brands that were so bad on my dry patches, but this one is so nice. Just swatching it on the back of my hand, I could tell it was creamy and non-drying.
You look fabulous! When I used foundation often a few years ago, MUFE was one of my favorite foundation brands and it’s nice to see how wonderful they are getting with their line 😉 Did I mention you look gorgeous 😀
Aw, thanks girl! This is actually the first MUFE foundation I’ve fallen for, their others (HD liquid and velvet mat) didn’t play well with my skin, but I’m obsessed with this! 🙂
I love this foundation and I always forget how much I do… I don’t use it enough!
I love how easy it is to use, it makes me never want to use liquid again!
I’m wary to try stick foundations because of breakout concerns. Good to know you love this tho
I’ve actually never had a breakout from this, you should try it!
You got a perfect match! I haven’t tried a stick foundation, ever – breakout concerns, like Kath, and I’m worried I’ll look cakey no matter how much I blend.
Aw, bummer! I’ve never had a break out from this, but I also don’t have acne prone skin. Too bad you can’t get a sample at Sephora (or maybe you can, but Idk how they’d put it in the little to-go jar lol)
The finish is gorgeous on you.
Thanks, Erika!
This foundation sounds impressive! The sticks I’ve tried in the past were heavy and hard to blend, but this sounds like a dream! The finish looks lovely, too.
I think you’d like this, the formula is super easy to work with!
I’m always impressed with MUFE products. I really want to try this out since I’ve also got combination skin and I think it would work great for me too.
I think you’d like it, it works great on my combo skin!
Ohhh, this looks great on you! I’ve been wanting to try the regular MUFE HD Foundation (have you tried that one?) If so, how do you think this compares?
I’ve tried the regular HD foundation and their Velvet Mat, but both were too drying on my skin. They would probably work better on your skin type though!
These remind me of Bobbi Brown foundation sticks. Any idea how Makeup Forever one fares against Bobbi Brown?
I actually have never tried the Bobbi Brown foundation sticks, but it’s on my list!
It looks beautiful on you. I have this one, the new Lancome stick and the Bobbi Brown one too. MUFE is my favorite!
