It’s time for a mid week beauty review! I finally snagged myself a beauty voxbox from Influenster, and it features one of my favorite brands – Yves Saint Laurent. They recently introduced three new neutralizers to their Touche Eclat line, all promising to neutralize color imperfections. I’ve got one shade to talk about, so let’s get to it!
Retailing for $38 (0.08 oz) at Sephora, each neutralizer comes packaged in a slim metal tube with a brush applicator, and clicker on the bottom to release the product. Though it’s convenient and easy to use, it can be hard to control how much product comes out at once, so it’s best to click 1-2x, then slowly add more as needed.
The three shades offered are Green (to conceal redness), Violet (to correct dullness), and Bisque (to cover darkness). The shade I received is Bisque, which works out perfect because pregnancy insomnia has kicked in BIG time.
The formula is just what I would expect from YSL, it’s creamy, easy to blend, and it doesn’t appear cakey or heavy on my under eyes. The shade itself is salmon colored, to diminish darkness, so it’s not something I would wear on its own. But, it performs beautifully under my favorite concealers (Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealer and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer) and doesn’t cause any creasing.
As I mentioned, I haven’t been getting much sleep. The third trimester has brought with it killer heartburn, back aches, and the inability to get comfortable at night. So, of course my under eyes aren’t looking so good these days. To put this neutralizer to the test, I applied it liberally to my bare under eyes, then took before and after photos without adding any other product.
BEFORE & AFTER
In the photos above, I used the Touche Eclat Neutralizer in Bisque under my eyes, around my nose, and on a few hyperpigmentation marks. I blended it with a dampened beautyblender, and that’s it! You can see my under eyes appear more rested and brighter, as do the other areas where I applied it.
To amp up the coverage even more, I follow up with my usual concealer, but the YSL neutralizer is a great first step in color correcting. It calms my under eye darkness, and the formula is super easy to work with. It’s pricey, but I think it would be a great addition to any concealer wardrobe!
What do you think of the new neutralizers? Have you picked one up?
This product was received through Influenster, all opinions are my own.
Such a great product for color correcting!
Jealous! I was hoping for this product, but I’ve gotten all the other YSL Beauty products from Influenster so I shouldn’t be greedy! The Neutralizer did a great job! And as always, love the elegant packaging!
Good to know you liked it
I’d love this. I love the original Touche Eclat and haven’t found a substitute for it yet. It’s interesting to know they’ve increased the line with correctors.
I didn’t it expect it to work so well on it’s own. Impressive! I am definitely interested in picking this up.
This is really neat! I’ve never heard of this type of product.
Wow! This product looks amazing.
This looks great. I love that so many brands are now coming out with products that you would only see with a select few brands. Glad to know that at that price point, it works well.
Wow! The bisque shade really impressed me! I have been meaning to go to Sephora to give these a try, but I haven’t made it in there yet! I’m really interested in the green!!
These look nice! I am dying to try the Violet & Green ones! Hope you are able to get better rest before the baby comes. I remember it being so hard 🙁
I haven’t tried the YSL one but I have one salmon coloured corrector from Pixi and it works wonders. I can’t believe you’re already in third trimester of your pregnancy, time is flying! I remember those killers heartburns! x
