Happy Monday! It was quiet on the blog last week, thanks to a bad cold that made its way through my house. But, I’m back today to talk about one of the prettiest makeup items in my collection. My husband surprised me with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow for Christmas (husband of the year, right?!) and all I can say is this baby is just as gorgeous on the inside as it is on the outside!
Retailing for $68 (0.56 oz) at Nordstrom, Beautylish, and charlottetilbury.com, this duo promises to slim, sculpt, shorten, trim, and highlight facial features. The bronzer is formulated with “the perfect universal blend of pearl and pigment to contour features and mimic a sun-kissed complexion,” while the highlight features a golden base that’s meant to flatter all skin tones.
The stunning gold exterior of this palette is what initially sparked my interest. It reminds me of old hollywood glamour, it’s timeless and elegant. The packaging itself is sturdy enough to travel with, and features a nice size mirror inside.
The texture of each powder is smooth and creamy. They are easy to work, and they aren’t too pigmented, so you can build up color without applying too much all at once. They can produce kick up when you swirl your brush into them, but that’s to be expected with their soft textures. Despite this, they are still a breeze to apply and they aren’t at all dry, chalky, or stiff.
The bronzer or “sculpt” shade in this duo, is best suited for those with light to medium complexions. It’s got warm golden undertones, and it creates a gorgeous beachy glow that isn’t too intense. It never appears streaky or muddy, and it leaves behind a luminous finish. Because it’s warm toned, and quite light, I wouldn’t reach for it while contouring, but it’s a great everyday bronzer for all over the face.
The highlight seems like nothing at all when swatched, but when applied it does something magical. It’s seriously one of the prettiest highlighters I own. Like the bronzer, it also has golden undertones, and on the cheekbones it’s luminous with a gorgeous sheen. It’s not frosty, or glittery (in fact there aren’t any shimmer specks in this at all), but it still manages to create a lit from within glow. Every time I wear this, I’m amazed at how beautiful my cheekbones look!
As far as lasting power goes, these powders stay in place all day without fading or turning patchy, so long as I use a great primer or setting spray. My skin is dry, so powders usually stick around without much fuss, but if you’re oily you’ll probably have to reapply throughout the day.

The price of this palette is steep, but the luxe packaging and stunning powders make it a great addition to my collection. The bronzer is easy to wear, and can be applied all over without looking too intense. The highlight is great for adding a touch of glow to the cheekbones, inner corners, cupids bow, and down the center of the nose. If you’ve been lusting after this (like I did for over a year), I say take the plunge and dive in! 😉

It’s a gorgeous compact that I would love. Even the sculpt shade is not too dark. But I wonder why they had to write Sculpt Highlight on the pans – like we wouldn’t know? I think the words sort of ruined a stunning compact, though I certainly would love owning it

He definitely did AMAZING! He said he wasn’t sure once he got on the site haha he’s never surprised me with makeup before, so it was a shock! It would definitely work on you, it’s not too dark, and it doesn’t apply scary at all like many bronzers can.

I was so shocked, I only half mentioned CT once and he said he went and wrote it in his phone to remember. Major brownie points scored haha! CT actually offers a medium version of this, that’s a tad darker, so you may like that one as well!
You certainly married the right man! This has been on my wishlist – I’ve been going on Beautylish almost every day and drooling over this but worry that this would be too pale for me and the medium version would be too much.
LOL he’s a keeper! 😉 This is rather light, so I’m thinking the medium may not be too dark. It’s a pricey risk, but I think Beautylish has a good return policy!

I don’t really contour enough to warrant this, but it is absolutely stunning! I just got a few CT bits and am very excited to get using them.
I can’t wait to try more from her line. This is actually better for everyday bronzing, the powder is just a touch too warm for contour IMO.
