Hello there, beauties! Can you believe next week is Christmas?! Where did the time go! To celebrate the season, I turned to my bright and fun Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca palette. I dug into some gorgeous greens to create a festive eye that’s perfect for the holidays. Sadly, this palette is currently sold out, but here’s hoping Sephora brings it back!
FACE:
- Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
- Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation in Y245
- Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Fairy Light Neutral
- Laura Mercier Universal Loose Setting Powder in Translucent
- Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder
- Smashbox Photo finish Primer Water
EYES/BROWS:
- Milani Stay Put Brow in Dark Brown
- LORAC Behind the Scenes Eye Primer
- Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette
- Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zodiac (upper lash line)
- Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil in Rail
- Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow in Starry Eyed (inner corner highlight)
- Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara (upper and lower lashes)
- House of Lashes Iconic Lashes
CHEEKS:
- Benefit High Beam
- Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink
- Tarte Park Ave Princess Bronzer
- MAC Tenderling Blush
LIPS:
- MAC Pure Zen Lipstick
- YSL Gloss Volupte in Rose Jersey
EYES…From the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Palette, I placed Strutter above my crease as a transition shade, then applied Lemmy to my lids using a synthetic eye brush dampened with some MAC Fix + (for a more foiled effect). Next, I placed misfit in my crease, and black out in my outer corner. To add some dimension to the lids, I also placed a tiny bit of vinyl to the center of my lids using a flat shader brush.
I finished off the eyes with a dramatic pair of falsies from House of Lashes in Iconic, then lined my water line and applied Lemmy beneath my lower lashes for an extra pop of color.
FACE…For a full coverage finish, I reached for the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick in Y245. This shade is slightly too light for me, but I can make it work with some bronzing. I concealed my under eyes with a full coverage concealer from Tarte, then set everything with my Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder (under my eyes) and my Urban Decay Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder.
CHEEKS…To add some much needed color to my face, I bronzed with Tarte’s Park Ave Princess, then added a pop of MAC Tenderling to the apples of my cheeks. For some glow, I then reached for my new Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink. I raved about this yesterday, and it’s currently on sale, so I highly suggest checking it out!
LIPS…My favorite combo has been MAC Pure Zen lipstick, with a YSL Gloss Volupte in Rose Jersey over top. It’s creamy, hydrating, and just the right amount of nude (meaning it’s not too concealing).
This look is great for holiday parties, or a fun night on the town. I hope you liked it! Be sure to let me know which products you reached for!

Wowee, love that look! I am such a fan of greens, and I love the lid shade especially. What is “vinyl” that you said you put in the center of the lid?
Thank you! Vinyl is the soft green from the Mi Vida Loca palette. I don’t have an in focus photo of the palette as a whole, because my camera took the worst photos the day I was photographing it 🙁 but it’s the super light green on the bottom in the first photo!
I love the packaging of that palette, so fancy! Makes you feel like an artist!
It’s SO pretty, I really wish it was permanent!
Love the green shadow. It really makes your eyes pop.
Thanks, it’s one of my fav shades to play around with!
What a pretty, festive look! It’s not too-over-the-top, but it’s still great for the holidays. That palette looks amazing. It’s like a grown-up more pigmented version of a colorful Coastal Scents palette. I hope they come back in stock!
I so wish it was a permanent palette, it sold out before I could even review it. The shadows are so pigmented!
You look AMAZING! Green shadows are so lovely with brown eyes!
Thank you! I love bold shades with brown eyes, green and purple especially! 🙂
I love the shades you used on your eyes. The colors are so striking on you.
I really need to add a Kat Von D palette to my stash, I cannot believe I don’t own a single one! You look beautiful, as always! Love the green on you!
You look fabulous! I adore these kind of khaki and olive-toned greens, rather than the lime/yellow-based brighter greens, which I just cannot pull off.
This is a gorgeous look, Julie! It complements your brown eyes perfectly! x

Girl… that eye look is absolutely stunning and that shade makes your eyes pop 🙂
Such a great look! I’m definitely gong to take note of your shade choices. I haven’t play around too much with this palette aside from a dark blue and pink smoky eye.
This is a fabulous look 🙂
Your look is so pretty. Perfect for the festive season.
I feel like we are make-up color soul mates, haha 🙂 Great color choices! Beautiful make-up.
Beautiful! Love the foiled effect on the green shadow. This palette really called to me, but in the end I somehow managed to resist it. 😉 I can’t believe Christmas Eve is Thursday!! :O
I love the lashes you paired with this look. You look like a fairy/mermaid hybrid and I love it.

I love the design of this palette! The forest green looks amazing with your eyes…I feel like the brand should feature this look on Instagram of something, it’s perfection! 🙂
