Hello, beauties! I usually stick to makeup and beauty topics on the blog, but I consider my readers my friends, so I wanted to fill you all in on a major life update. You might have noticed that things have been a bit quiet around here the past few months. I haven’t stuck to my blog schedule, and some weeks I’m lucky to get any post up at all. That’s not like me, so today I wanted to finally announce why I’ve been MIA!
I’m pregnant!! I’m 15 weeks now, and unfortunately the nausea hasn’t really let up, so it might be a while until the posts get back to their normal schedule. I have a few looks already photographed, but it’s definitely been hard getting Face of the Day’s done. Some weeks I don’t wear makeup at all (my poor collection is crying from neglect lol).
My symptoms have been completely different this go around. With my daughter, I never felt sick and breezed through the first 30ish weeks feeling great. But, this baby has more than made up for that. I mentioned a few months ago that I was dealing with debilitating migraines. One even progressed into visual disturbances that resulted in bright flashing lights and loss of vision for about 5 minutes. They were that intense. Thankfully, those subsided around week 9 – just in time for the nausea to start.
Another unique symptom I’m dealing with is called SPD, or pelvic girdle pain. I’m no stranger to hip and back pain, but about two weeks ago it became so bad I’m now limping through the grocery store. I don’t like to complain, because I know how blessed I am to be carrying a life inside of me. But, sometimes the pain just plain sucks.
Chasing (or rather hobbling) after a toddler these days has drained me, so posts have been sporatic. I wish I could say with certainty when that will change, but I have a feeling once I get my groove back it will be time for the baby to arrive, then who knows what my days will look like. In the meantime, I’m still buying and trying makeup, so I definitely don’t plan on ending my beauty blogging days. But, I do want to thank you all for sticking with me though all this. Here’s hoping the next few months treat me well!
P.S. – I’ll have a new look up friday! 😀
Congratulations!!!! Big sister looks thrilled. 😀
LOL when we ask her if she wants a little brother or sister, she says “no thank you” it was the only photo I got before she ran away 😉
CONGRATULATIONS, Julie! I am so thrilled for you and your family!
Thank you!! We’re really excited! 🙂
Aww, congratulations lovely! Great news! I know how exhausting pregnancy can be having a toddler already 🙂 Wishing you best of luck and keeping my fingers crossed you will feel better soon! xx

Thank you!! It’s been quite an adventure so far, I swear my daughters energy levels go up everyday (while mine go down haha)
Congratulations gorgeous. With both of my pregnancies, I had morning sickness till the day I gave birth, especially with the twins. It was so hard… I lost 68 lbs with the twins pregnancy alone. I hope it lets up some and you feel better soon… because I know it can be such a challenge to have a little one and dealing with it. My eldest was 4 years old when I was pregnant with the twins, I had such a hard time.
Oh no, you poor thing!! I had zero morning sickness with my daughter, and this pregnancy I was in the clear until week 9 – so I thought I was escaping it again, then it reared its ugly head and has really given me a ride. I guess I should have expected it, being that I managed to avoid it the first time. I have days were I’m not nauseas at all, then bam it comes right back. Here’s hoping it goes away for good soon!
I think I knew you were pregnant, and I hope I congratulated you already, but just in case, Congratulations and best wishes! I’m so sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well. Hope it goes away soon and you begin to feel more like yourself again. I have had migraines for years, and I sometimes get the flashing, vibrating lights, and I also lost vision which is a very scary thing. Hope those headaches take off and leave you alone!
Yes, I had told you in a comment on your blog 🙂 But thanks again, Allison! I’ve also had migraines for years, never had a optical one though. That frightened me to my core, I even called 911, I had no clue what was happening to me. Thankfully it went away after 5 minutes, but those were the longest five minutes of my life!
I know exactly what you mean, Julie. I had a serious migraine with optical effects for the first time about 6 years ago. I didn’t know what was happening either. Jeff was about to take me to the ER when the symptoms began to subside. I hope you don’t have that kind of headache again!
Congratulations to you and your family, Julie! How exciting!! I gave my mom quite a time with similar symptoms when she was pregnant with me. It is such an amazing, cool, crazy thing that we are able to grow a life! I hope you feel better and don’t feel anxious about not keeping to your blogging schedule. I will read when you post and understand when you can’t. <3

Thanks, Amanda!! It’s been quite an adventure these past few weeks, I’ve gotten nothing done. It’s definitely amazing what our bodies can do, and I so appreciate your support! I’m heading to your blog to check out that Bobbi Brown review! 🙂
Congratulations. I’m so happy and excited for you. Wishing you all the best xxx
Thanks so much, Laura! 😀
Aww. Poor sweetie. I’m sorry that you’re struggling so much with this pregnancy but I’m so happy for you and your bundle of babyness to be. Just take care of yourself and that little one inside. Blog can wait, it’ll be here when you feel up to it. I had a rough one when I carried my son. I was pregnant at the same time as others at work (there were four of us, all preggers at once!) and all of them were glowing and gorgeous and I was sick all day, all nine months, migraines, preeclampsia… It sucked. lol But at the end of it all, I had that gorgeous baby boy. Hang in there. <3
Oh no, sounds awful! I had developed gestational hypertension with my daughter that we feared was turning into pre-eclampsia due to rapid weight gain at the end (always fun to put on 10lbs in 10 days lol). I’m on baby aspirin this go around to *try* and prevent that, here’s hoping!! I can so relate to your story though, I swear others have such amazing easy pregnancies and I’m over here with my extra large container of tums hobbling along with my hip pain haha so worth it though!
Mazel Tov!!! I know that it’s not easy to go through this especially with a toddler to care for but when you hold your new baby the first time, it’s all going to fade away. Feel better soon.
That’s so true!! All the pain and nausea is so worth it! 🙂
This is so exciting! Congratulations! Luckily both of my pregnancies were rather great but I really hope your aches, pains and nausea go away as the pregnancy progresses. 🙂
Thanks, Kristina! I think this pregnancy is paying me back for how easy I had it with my daughter (minus the high blood pressure I developed at 30 weeks) lol
Awwww congratulations, what an amazing news! 🙂 Sorry about the nausea and everything but it will be so worth it in the end! Take care of yourself, I wish you all the best 🙂 xx
Thank you!! Here’s hoping the nausea subsides soon!
*Squee* Congrats! So happy for you and your family 😀 Hopefully you feel a bit better though, that sounds pretty awful.
Thank you! The all day nausea has been really hard, it’s like I’m constantly car sick. BLAH! But, hopefully that ends soon! 🙂
Aw many many congratulations lovely and I really do hope the nausea shifts soon x
Thank you! 🙂
Congratulations! 🙂
Thanks so much! 🙂
Yay, congratulations, Julie! That’s really exciting. I am sorry you haven’t been feeling good, I hope that changes soon. How does your daughter feel about being a big sister soon?
Thank you!! When we ask her if she wants a little brother or sister, she says “no thank you” haha so right now she’s not too into it lol
Oh oh, hopefully she will change her little attitude once the baby is here! When do you find out if it’s a girl or a boy? Or do you want to keep it a surprise?
We find out in 4 weeks! 🙂
Congratulation for being pregnant :o) x
Thank you! 🙂
Yay! So happy for you!
Thanks, Heather! 🙂
congratulations julie!!! hold on! you have a great attitude about it, I am not a mother so I have no idea how you’re even managing, what seems quite the rocky few months!
hopefully it will pass soon!
Thanks, Alice! It’s been quite a ride so far, but I’m taking it one day at a time! I appreciate your support and kind words!
Congratulations lovely, I didn’t have the greatest pregnancy when I was pregnant with my little girl so I really feel for you. Just think at the end of it all you will have your beautiful bundle of joy! xxx
It’s definitely all worth it! 🙂
Congratulations! So sorry about the painful pregnancy symptoms you’ve been going through! I know what you mean — it’s such a blessing to be carrying a child, but when you’re balling your eyes out because of how rotten you feel or how much pain you’re in, it’s hard to deal with! I experienced severe nausea up until about week 20 with my pregnancy. Not fun, at all. Totally understandable to be absent from the blog. Focus on YOU and your family — keep that baby happy and healthy and we can’t wait to see your little bundle of joy!
Thanks, Katie!! I know your little one will be here soon, so I say the same to you. Take time for yourself, and don’t worry the sleepless nights will end! 🙂
Congrats! I’m so happy for you 🙂 Hope the symptoms ease up on you soon:)
