It’s been a while since I talked about my empties, and as usual they’ve piled up pretty high. Like most beauty addicts, I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I finish a beauty product. It’s just so refreshing knowing that my money was well spent, and that every drop of product is gone. I don’t get to experience that joy with many makeup products, because when you own thirty blushes getting through one is pretty much impossible. But, I do finish skin and body products rather quickly, so I have lots to talk about today!
- Origins Zero Oil Face Wash – I really liked this! I’ve been loyal to my First Aid Beauty Face Wash for years, but this was a nice change. It foamed into a rich lather, and it gently cleansed my skin without leaving it too tight or dry. I’ve since gone back to my FAB face wash, but I would definitely buy this again.
- Josie Maran Argan Hair Oil – This is actually half full, but I don’t like it, so it’s time to part ways. I have thick, hard to manage hair, so I need a serum/oil that’s rich and intense, and this is not. The formula is thin, the smell is odd, and it didn’t do anything for my hair.
- MAC Pro Eye Makeup Remover – I’m pretty sure I’ve had a bottle of this in every empties I’ve ever done. It’s gentle, doesn’t sting, and it gets off every last drop of eye makeup. The price is a little steep, so I won’t repurchase it again until I get through some of my cleansing waters. But, I definitely think this is one of the best makeup removers on the market.
- NARSskin Double Refining Exfoliator – This exfoliator has tiny little micro beads that gently slough off dead skin. There are a ton of beads in every drop, so it still manages to exfoliate nicely, just without that scratchy effect more coarse scrubs offer. However, it’s $34 so I have not repurchased.
- Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash– If you’re looking for a gentle face wash that’s creamy and frothy, then run to Sephora and buy this. It has a rich velvety texture, and it’s free of harsh ingredients. If I didn’t already own three backups of my First Aid Beauty cleanser, I would definitely purchase a full size!
- Clinique Rinse-Off Eye Makeup Remover – This was okay, it didn’t burn or sting my sensitive eyes, but I much prefer my MAC remover. I used this primarily to remove arm swatches, and did a nice job, but it didn’t wow me.
- First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser – I received this little guy in a gift set around the holidays, and of course I loved it because it’s my holy grail face cleanser 😉 There are no harsh acne fighters in this, instead it’s just a simple face wash that cleanses, without stripping, and leaves my skin looking bright and clear. I don’t know how this works so well, but it’s amazing!
- First Aid Beauty Daily Face Cream – This is another product that always makes an appearance in my empties posts. The packaging is now red, instead of baby blue, but the formula inside remains the same. It’s lightweight, yet it still hydrates my dry skin perfectly, and it wears amazing under makeup. It sinks in quickly, doesn’t feel greasy, and it’s free of harsh chemicals. I’m obsessed!
- Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Hand Therapy – This amazing smelling lotion came in a Sample Society box, and it blew me away. It has this gorgeous beachy scent, and it left my hands feeling like silk. I have a few Molton Brown lotions to work though, so when I finish those I will definitely purchase this again!
- Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar – I am so smitten with this product! I keep managing to get samples, so I haven’t had to purchase a full size. But, I think this will pop up in a haul very soon!
That’s it for today’s empties, but stay tuned for part two next week! In the meantime, let me know what beauty products you recently used up!

Wow, you finished up so much more than I did last month! I will definitely try the FAB cleansers when I finish everything else I need to finish up because it sounds perfect for me! And the same with C&E La Source Hand Therapy!
The FAB cleanser is so gentle, so I think you’ll love it. The C&E lotion was so yummy smelling, I’m so sad it’s gone!
Great empties post! I love the FAB cleanser – its perfect for my combo oily/dry skin. I also love the origins checks & balances but it can be a bit drying for me. Have you tried the clinique remover in the purple bottle – I think its called take the day off for eyes & lips? That is my holy grail eye makeup remover and their new cleansing balm is awesome for days when I have a lot of face and eye makeup on.
Oh, yes I have tried the purple one years ago! I totally forgot about that one. I also tried the balm years ago too, but I think I used it wrong, so I might revisit that one. I love balms and oils to remove makeup, it takes all the work out of it!
I have come to love these empties posts lately, I can’t get enough of them haha. I need to try that FAB cleanser and I have been wanting to try Hope In A Jar forever!
The FAB cleanser is so simple, yet so amazing. Most of the products in their range are like that, with my skin less is definitely more, so its become my go-to skincare line!
I need that MAC Pro Eye Makeup Remover, stat! haha.. been looking for a good one. I can’t seem to do empties much, because (I’m super guilty of this) I always start a new product before I finish the previous one I had been using.. lol 🙁 Great post and great pictures!
I do that with shampoos, which is why it’s very rare to see any in my empties lol I’m trying to be good and actually use stuff up…so I can feel a little better about all the makeup I have laying around untouched lol
I love Crabtree & Evelyn lotions they always smell so amazing!
Aren’t they heavenly!? I want to try them all now!
My sister goes through the MAC Eye Makeup Remover like crazy. I mostly use Mary Kay and it’s one of the few things I ever have emptied too.
I haven’t tried anything from Mary Kay, but the MAC remover is really great. Though the price is a little high, but at least you can back-2-mac them!
I need to try the First aid beauty face cleanser and Clinique rinse-off eye makeup remover, it sound so great! Nice to know your thoughts.. I love empties posts as well!:)xx

Everything I’ve tried from FAB has been amazing! I hope you enjoy the brand as much as I do!
I’ve always wondered about MAC’s Pro Makeup Remover and now I know!
It’s a great remover, and it’s oil free, so it doesn’t leave behind any greasy residues on the lids. I highly recommend!
Like you, I feel such a sense of accomplishment when I actually finish something! I decided to hang on to my empties this month – and they’re all hair products so far, because I have a lot of hair and it’s the only thing I seem to finish! lol
I’m on the verge of finishing like 5 hair products, of course they all run out at once! lol Looking forward to your empties post!
Like you, I finish my body and skincare products quite quickly but as for makeup, the only thing that I normally manage to finish are under eye concealers/highlighters, face powders, eye liners and mascaras. But I’m yet to see hitting pan in any of my eyeshadows, lol! x
Mummy’s Beauty Corner
Hitting pan of makeup is so hard, but I also go through concealers quite quickly, which always pains me because they are so expensive and not fun to repurchase lol 😉
I’ve been wanting to pick up the First Aide Beauty eye treatments but the cleanser sounds so nice! Sooo many great things here. I “oh’d and ah’d” the whole way down
Let me know if you pick anything up, the cleanser is so nice and gentle!
I feel like I have a tube of that FAB face wash in my boyfriends stash (his mom buys him a lot of random stuff). I’ll have to see if it’s the same one, and if it is I’ll definitely start using it!
Oh yes, definitely start! It has such a great formula, I hope you like it as much as I do! 🙂
Update: I did have it so I started using it over the weekend! It is GREAT! I was having some redness and now it’s gone!
Loved reading your empties post! It’s always so fun to see what people finish and hear their final thoughts. I love the sound of the NARSskin Double Refining Exfoliator. I just finished a Caudalie exfoliator that sounds similar – lots of exfoliant but still gentle. Maybe I’ll try this one from NARS next! Thanks, Julie!
So glad you liked my reviews! 🙂 I’ve actually tried the Caudalie exfoliator, and it is a lot like the NARS product, so you should like it!
I’ve heard rave reviews nonstop about hope in a jar, and basically everything by First Aid Beauty! What should be my three first pick choices to get acquainted with First Aid Beauty???

My top three FAB picks are the Daily Face Cream, the Face Wash and the Detox Eye Roller. If you have dry skin I also highly recommend the Ultra Repair Cream – that stuff is amazing for the winter. Especially for the brutally cold northeast!
