The season of short shorts, skirts, and dresses is upon us and with that comes the dreadful task of daily shaving. It’s no secret that exfoliation is key to a close shave, but who’s got time for messy scrubs? That’s where the Teadora Rainforest at Dawn Nourishing Exfoliating Bar comes in! I had the recent opportunity to give this bar a try, and I was instantly hooked!
Retailing online for $5-$14, this nourishing exfoliator comes packed with natural ingredients that slough away dead skin, in-grown hairs, and blemishes to reveal skin that is brighter, healthier and smoother. It’s gentle enough for use 2-3x per week, and it comes in two scents. Rainforest at Dawn (which is woodsy) and Rainforest at Dusk (which is floral).
Here’s what Teadora has to say:
“Our Nourishing Exfoliating Bar comes with a combination of powerful oils, butters and exotic exfoliant agents such as Buriti, Cupuaçu, Clay and Açaí seeds, which are full of free radical-fighting antioxidants, vitamins and oleic and fatty acids that help to purify and moisturize your skin.“
The first thing I noticed about this bar, was the earthy scent. I’m more of a floral kind of gal, and as I mentioned above, this is woodsy. It’s formulated with completely natural ingredients, so there’s no synthetic fragrances, dyes, parabens, or phthalates – and the scent really reflects that. It’s not a bad smell, it’s just not my style. Thankfully though, it’s not overwhelming in the shower, and it doesn’t linger or interfere with my perfume.
I’ve used quite a few exfoliating bars in the past, but they are usually scratchy and dry up quickly. This on the other hand, is fantastic! The exfoliating beads are really finely milled, so they don’t feel like sand paper, yet they still manage to smooth the skin. It foams into a rich lather, and it leaves my skin feeling cleansed and hydrated. There’s no greasy or slimy residues left behind, and it allows my razor to get a super close shave. Just be sure to watch your step when using it, because it can make the shower floor a little slick!
Since there’s no jar involved with this product, the ease of use is super simple. Just slather it all over your body like a traditional soap, and you’re done! There’s no messy sugar crystals to worry about, or slippery caps to unscrew. Although I love taking long hot showers, being a mama to a toddler means I hardly have time to wash my hair, let alone time to mess with tubs full of grainy scrubs.
While my yummy smelling Soap & Glory scrub has remained in my shower untouched, this bar has gotten tons of love. It’s hydrating, smoothing, and the price point is really affordable. If you’re in the market for a gentle body exfoliator, I highly recommend this one from Teadora!

I haven’t tried the exfoliating soap, but I’ve tried the exfoliating lip balm and the exfoliating scrub, and I love ’em both. The scrub also had an herbal, woodsy scent, but I liked it. Teadora makes wonderful natural products.
Those sound fantastic! This is my first experience with the brand, but it definitely won’t be my last! 🙂
That sounds really interesting. I love woodsy scents (though I haven’t always). I love scrubbing before I shave so this seems great.

If you’re a fan of woodsy scents, you’ll love this. It’s even grown on me a bit, it’s sultry!
I think I’m much more of a super abrasive exfoliator but this looks like it would be good for those needing more of a gentle exfoliation! xxx
This is quite gentle, so yeah I think I’d pass on this if you prefer scratchier scrubs!
This sounds like it would be nice as a pre-exfoliating shaving product but for an all over body exfoliator I like em’ rough! lol
The Soap & Glory scrub would probably be perfect for you then! I have quite sensitive skin, so this one is perfect for me 🙂
It sounds like quite an interesting product, I think I would want something a bit more abrasive x
This still delivers effective exfoliation, but I can see it being a bit too gentle for those who like larger scrub granules!
Oh this sounds great! Shower shelf space is really valuable in my tiny dorm room shower, so I usually have to pass on body scrubs in a jar (plus, I always get water in them), so this sounds like a great substitute! I’d probably prefer the floral one, since I’m not usually big on earthy scents (but if it gets the job done, I’d use either!).
I don’t have any bar soaps/exfoliators – but I might have to try this out.
I prefer using soap at the moment, but hadn’t even thought about exfoliating soap bars. Will have to check this out. I like the idea of it xx
I haven’t used a soap bar in a really long time, this sounds fantastic! xx
I have a love-hate relationship with bar soap… I do think this is easier and less wasteful than using a cream scrub though.
I have never used anything like this. I like the idea of it and it sounds great xx

I have to be honest, I’ve never used a product like this before, sounds interesting but I’m not sure I could be bothered to use it, I just use exfoliating gloves as find them super quick and easy to use and do the job fine with some shower gel! x
