Happy Friday, beauties! Have you ever done your makeup, then decided you hated it, and had to start all over? No? Just me? 😆 Well that happened for today’s look. It was a purple smokey eye, but the shadows I used were so hard to work with. After blending for what seemed like an eternity, I decided to ditch the look altogether. Sigh, what a waste of lashes.
So, instead of a new Face of the Day, I thought it would be fun to do a throwback to a look I did last year. I absolutely love this soft pink eye, and these shadows are so easy to work with!
To create the look, I used the gorgeous Tamanna Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. This palette was limited edition, but Anastasia recently released the Artist Palette and it looks just as amazing!
To prime my eyes, I placed a Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pure Nude all over my lid. It’s a really opaque base that makes light pink shadows pop. Then I applied Blush all over the lid, China Rose in the Crease, and Chocolate in my outer corner.
For the rest of the look, I featured many of the products I talked about in my recent most used products post. I used Becca Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and set it all with Urban Decay All Nighter spray.
Lastly, I reached for my favorite YSL Route Volupte lipstick in #15 and then applied my favorite blush/bronzer duo from Tarte and Too Faced. You can check out the full details here!
I hope you all have a great weekend, and I promise to feature a brand new look next week!

very elegant! I hope your husband is taking you out tonight!
This is completely gorgeous! I’m loving the eyes!! I’m way behind in the times because I have never tried anything from Anastasia except for her eyebrow goodies. I feel like I should change that and pick something up, ha! PS I start over on my makeup all of the time, especially when winged liner is involved! #BeautyBloggerIssues
Looks great! I’ve kind of got a similar look going today but purple instead of pink!
Beautiful! I really want to try you trick with layering colors over the Maybelline Color Tattoo. I have a cream eyeshadow by Benefit, but I’d love one that’s more nude.
I have wanted to try an Anastasia palette for so long. These colors look amazing on you! You’re gorgeus! And you’re def not the only omen hour has or wants to start all over! My issue is I get one eye done perfectly and the other eye comes out either with bad eyeliner, mascara or the eyeshadow comes out just wrong….
Love this look!
Julie, you are rocking this look (as always)! I have definitely botched a look and had to start all over, usually when doing something dramatic for a party or event. Sometimes I’ll try to blend it out and make it work, but usually I just wind up making it worse haha.
I am so bad at eye makeup so most of my looks end up in regret and or disappointment lol! This look is so pretty and I was just looking at an Anastasia palette at Ulta last week.
I think it happened to me once that I screwed up my cat liner so I had to redo the whole look.
I love these metallic gold rose on you, soo soo beautiful!
I was wearing a purple smokey eye today for my anniversary dinner with my husband 🙂

Your makeup is seriously #flawless. I LOVE it.
I’ve never started my whole face over, but definitely certain parts!

This is a gorgeous look! And you just reminded me to use the Tamanna palette again 🙂 And it happens to me as well that I have an idea of a makeup look and when I finish it I actually don’t like it 😉 x

Yes, I too have had to take off my makeup and start again. This look is lovely and I always enjoy your shimmery looks. 🙂
