Happy Wednesday, beauties! Today’s review is all about a new foundation stick from Physicians Formula. I’ve been testing this out for a few weeks, and now I’m finally ready to share my thoughts with you all! 🙂
Retailing for $12.99 at drugstores and online, this all-in-one beauty balm claims to be a concealer, foundation and touch up tool. It’s formulated without parabens, fragrance, and gluten and it’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic.
Like most other BB products, this one offers a ton of beauty benefits, including smoothing, brightening, concealing, firming and line softening. Talk about a hefty list of promises!
If you’re a fan of foundation sticks, you’ll love this. It’s so easy to apply, and it blends into the skin like a dream. You simply draw it onto the areas you want coverage, then blend away with a brush or makeup sponge. It can look cakey if you overdo it, but a light hand and a damp beauty blender will help minimize that.
I can’t really attest to the firming or line softening claims, but it definitely gives the skin a smoother appearance while concealing imperfections. In fact, I’d say this is pretty full coverage. It covered up acne, and hid my hyperpigmentation marks really well.
The wear time of this stick is also pretty good. It lasts all day without turning blotchy or shiny, but it can creep into laugh lines and forehead lines if too much is applied. Again, a light hand is definitely needed with this!

Unfortunately, the one MAJOR drawback to this product is that it only comes in two shades – Light and Light/Medium. I have no idea why Physicians Formula continues to release products with such a limited shade range. My shade is Light, but being that I’m MAC NW20, I’m really not that pale to be considered the lightest shade. Which means there are a ton of porcelain skinned and dark skinned beauties who cannot use this, what a shame!
Despite the lack of shades, I do really like this BB stick. It’s easy to use, lasts all day, and leaves my complexion looking even and smooth. It can look cakey if used with a heavy hand, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary for Physicians Formula (I find their powders can cake up as well). If you have a light hand, and a beauty blender handy, this foundation can look gorgeous! I highly recommend!
Have you tried this? Let me know!

I haven’t tried it or seen it in stores, but I was really eager to try the Bobbi Brown foundation sticks. This is much more affordable. I’ll see if Light will be a decent match for me. Sounds great to have for summer, to use to go out after the beach etc.
I’ve always wanted to try BB’s sticks too, but I was never able to color match myself. There were so many color choices and swatching under florescent lights in stores can be so deceiving. I think you’ll like this, and the price is much better than BB. I got this one on ULTA’s site!
I really like the idea of a bb stick. The shades might be a problem for me especially during the summer when I would be wearing the BB by itself. I am probably in the range in the winter months but not once the sun hits me. Great review
I’m really hoping they release more shades! I love that it comes in a stick, but I can see this being too light for me once I get some color this summer.
I was curious about picking this up! Sounds great from your review (and looks great on you!).
It’s really nice, but I think so many people will find it hard to color match themselves. Light on me is good because it’s sort of neutral, but Light/Medium in their powder is way too orange 🙁
It looks really nice on you! It gives you a fresh faced look! I like the idea of a BB stick too. More convenient. Too bad there aren’t many shade options though.
The stick is definitely really easy to use, fingers crossed they release for shades!
Ugh, the shade range is so irritating! It looks like it gives good coverage and I like the finish.
It’s a great finish, so I was happy about that. Thankfully, I chose the right shade. With their BB powder I chose Light/Medium and it was so orange on me!
I love a good foundation stick (especially Bobbi Brown)! I haven’t tried this one yet BUT I’ll say the one reason I didn’t was because of the lack of shades available. I’m about the same shade as you, so this might actually work out for me!
Ughhh.. I wish the shade selection was better! You look stunning by the way! 😀
Thank you! 🙂 I wish it was better too, I don’t understand their reasoning, they would sell so much more!
Whoa, this is nice. Reminds me of the bb stick of maybelline 🙂
I haven’t tried that one, I’ll have to look for it!
I loved how this looked on you but bummer about the shade selection 🙁 When will brands realise that more shades = more sales? On the bright side, I just treated myself to three Spring/Summer bronzers from PF and they’re all sooo pretty that I don’t want to swatch or wear them LOL 😀
Ohh, those bronzers did look so pretty! The city bronzers look amazing too. PF always has the prettiest overlays on their products!
your skin is so flawless 🙂 🙂 http://ninasbargainbeauty.blogspot.com
Aw, thank you! 🙂
Your skin looks great, I haven’t seen a bb base as a balm before, would like to try it xx
The stick formula makes it so easy to apply, I definitely suggest it! Hopefully you can find your shade!
This sounds amazing, too bad there is only 2 shades available 🙁

This looks lovely on you!
Thank you! 🙂
That’s sometimes a lot of problems with bb creams is the lack of shades, like you light colours are too light and when you go to a medium they are too dark. This looks really good coverage though for a bb cream.

I was really impressed with the coverage, but yeah the medium shade was way too orange, this one thankfully was just right!
I have been wanting to try this just wasn’t sure about it. I love PF’s products. I’m pretty fair skinned so I don’t have a problem with that. I do wish they would offer it to fit everyonea complexion. Because they are really great products!! Thanx again!!
I hope you like it! The light shade is a good match for me, but I also wish they would extend their shade range!
This looks amazing on you, what a great product x
Thank you!
I have never tried PF before. (Bad beauty blogger haha) I have had my eyes on a couple products, but this is a great review. It is a shame when shades don’t go light/dark enough. Hopefully they expand the range soon.

Their bronzers and blushes are really pretty, but for some reason their foundations are limited in shades and the medium shade is way too orange! 🙁
I’m not a big fan of stick bases exactly fro what you mention, that they settle in lines..and too bad for the shade range! nevertheless, i wish there was PF in Europe to try some of their products!
I’m hoping PF becomes available in Europe as well, their products are hit or miss, but some of them I really love!
Aw shame for the lack of shade range but it does look like a gorgeous product! x

I just bought the exact product! I was really hoping I would get some more product for the price that I paid. It’s a little greasy to my liking as well…
Aw bummer! I’m actually wearing it today, and I don’t find it greasy, but I also have dry skin. Sorry it didn’t work out for you!
