Happy Monday! A few weeks ago, I saw an Instagram photo of the new NYX Prismatic Eyeshadows and I could not resist the urge to try them. I don’t own many drugstore shadows, mostly because my experience hasn’t been the best. But, lately drugstore products seem to be greatly improving, so I took a chance and ordered a few!
These metallic shadows retail for $6, and are available in twelve shades ranging in color from light neutral to bold aqua. You can find them at ULTA, or online here.

Mermaid is a stunning metallic aqua that immediately caught my eye, I don’t own anything else like it! The formula is creamy, the color payoff is great and although it has a metallic finish it’s not frosty or shimmery. Photos do not capture how gorgeous this shade is!

Blue Jeans is a metallic denim with tiny silver shimmers. This super pigmented shade has a silky smooth texture, and applies beautifully to the lids. It’s not bright or chalky so it’s really wearable – not scary or 80’s like you might envision a blue shadow to be.

Golden Peach is a warm peach with golden undertones. This shade is smooth, pigmented and blends out really nicely. It’s a great pop of color for the crease, and I experienced zero fallout!

Girl Talk is a champagne pink that wears perfectly all over the lids. It has a silky texture, great color payoff and again I experienced zero fallout when applied to my lids.

Bedroom Eyes is a warm deep brown with golden undertones. It has the same smooth texture as the others, and although it can be crumbly when swatched I did not experience any issues with fallout (just be sure to tap off your brush before applying!). Unfortunately, the intensity of this shadow did not transfer very well to my crease or outer corner, but after some layering I was able to build up it’s color payoff.

These shadows are really soft and easy to work with, and although they can produce some crumbles when swatched, they perform great on the lids. The shade range is beautiful, the bow on the packaging is sweet, and the price point is easy on the wallet. I highly suggest checking them out!

Omg these look amazing! I can easily see Mermaid, Girl Talk, and and Golden Peach being great for spring and summer. Really, all of them look great, and now I want to see the other shades they have in this line!
The other shades are really great too, I would have bought them all if I didn’t already own a million shadows! 🙂

NYX is definitely one of my top drugstore brands as well, the only problem is their section is always so empty and sold out every time I go to ULTA! 🙁

Isn’t it so fun?! I’ve never worn an aqua green on my lids before, but I cannot wait to create some looks with it!
I like some of these colors and it’s not like I already have a million shadows- I just may have to pick a couple of these up!

So glad you liked it! 🙂 Be careful ordering these through ULTA, my Blue Jeans arrived broken and the one they replaced it with broke during delivery as well 🙁 They don’t pad the boxes enough, so I’d order through NYX if you can! 😀

I am obsessed with the NYX concealer. Those shadows have so much pigment. Please tell me how you get such beautiful makeup pictures! I am so impressed with how amazing your clarity is!
Thank you! It’s all about the lighting (natural is best) and I use a 50mm macro lens 🙂

I have not tried these but now I definitely will! Blue Jeans and Mermaid caught my eye and they will be perfect summer shades! Do they last all day on your lids?
I used them over a primer and they lasted pretty well! There was some fading, but overall they wore great! 🙂
I need to stop reading your posts… of course, you make me want all of these even though I don’t wear shadow on a daily basis! These are definitely going on my wishlist!
