PURCHASED BY ME/AFFILIATE LINKS
It’s the start of a brand new week, and I’m back with a review of the Gorgeous Cosmetics Contour Palette! I had been eying this for quite sometime, so when Gorgeous Cosmetics gave me the opportunity to review it, I nearly squealed in exictement 😆
This 8-pan palette retails for $59 and comes packaged in a sleek black case, with a large mirror inside. Although it has a space up front which looks like it would hold a brush, it doesn’t actually come with one.
Included are two highlight shades, two blushes and four sculpting shades. Each one has a really smooth texture, and intense color payoff. The first three are Potato Cake, True Taupe, and Matte Tan. Potato cake works wonderfully to set concealer and add brightness. It’s not chalky or cakey, so it’s perfect for the under eyes!
True Taupe is described as a cool toned brown, though to me it appears more warm. Either way, it has quickly become my go-to contour shade. It flatters my NC20 skin tone really nicely, and it doesn’t pull too orange or red. However, it can be intense so it’s essential to build this up slowly.
Matte Tan is another shade that I think has a deceiving description. It’s labeled as a warm neutral brown, but it’s really more of a soft nude peach. It looks beautiful on the apples of the cheeks, and you can build it’s intensity for a more bold look. I adore peach blushes, so this shade has definitely gotten a ton of love from me!

The next three shades are Dusk Rose, Nude and Smudge. Dusk Rose is a matte warm pink that looks exactly how it sounds, it has nice color payoff but it’s not too intense so it’s easy to work with.
Nude is a pink toned highlight that makes your cheekbones pop, its texture is really nice and the color payoff is spot on. Next is Smudge, which is a brown taupe that is great for those who prefer a cooler toned contour. It can be applied lightly for fair skinned gals, but it’s definitely buildable for you medium to dark skinned beauties!

The last two shades are Fudge and Mocha. Fudge is actually the only shade in this palette that I have yet to use, mostly because I’m pretty fair right now and it’s really dark. However, I think the inclusion of this shade makes this palette really versatile. It has options for light to medium skin, as well as darker skin tones, which is something other contour palettes on the market lack.
The final shade is Mocha, which is described as a matte finish mauve. For my skin tone, I can get away with using this as both a contour and blush. Its color payoff is soft, but it’s also very buildable.

I am thrilled that I got the chance to try this palette, it’s every bit as impressive as I thought it would be! Each and every shade is creamy, with rich pigmentation. They wear all day without fading, and the shade range is flattering for so many skin tones. The price is steep, but you’re getting eight generously sizes cheek products that also double as eyeshadows.
If you missed out on the Limited Edition Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette, or you were bummed by its lack of shades, I highly suggest checking this one out! For more information, or to purchase your own contour palette, click here. Which look do you like best?!

Very nice looking palette… so great to be able to create a full look 🙂
It’s really a great all-in-one palette! 🙂
Pretty! I really like Mocha as a contour shade.
It’s so fun to contour with shades other than with typical bronzers! 🙂
What a great palette! Makes me wish I played more with color/knew more what I was doing, lol. The colors all look so silky beautiful <3
They all have such incredible textures! They often feature this brand on Hautelook, I’d definitely check this out and play around! 🙂
Um yeah, I’d squeal too haha! That looks amazing and you look amazing wearing it. Gosh I need contour help haha
It’s all about the brush, girl! lol I used the NARS Ita brush, and it’s worth every penny!! I’ll be doing a giveaway for one very soon! (like this week lol)
Woo hoo, I’ll be crossing my fingers! And toes 😉
The palette itself is so pretty…and Dusk Rose looks like a shade I’d love. I’m blown away by how well you did the contouring…I need much more practice! You are beautiful! 🙂
It’s all about the brush! 🙂 I contoured with the NARS Ita Brush, it’s fantastic! 🙂
This looks like a great palette!
Thanks, I can’t put it down!
I haven’t even heard of Gorgeous before. Super pretty palette, though.
I only discovered them a few months ago, they are an australian brand and I want everything they make! haha
Great palette! I’ll have to admit, I don’t really do contouring, but it’s something I’d like to try. I can see this product being useful for someone like me who is unsure of what shades to buy.
I don’t normally contour very heavily, but this palette has so many great options to choose from that I find myself reaching for it everyday!
This palette looks amazing!
It is, I haven’t stopped using it since I got it!
Very pretty but I wish the packaging was a bit more fun for the price.
The packaging is sleek, but it’s just a basic black plastic material so yeah it would have been nice to have something a bit more elegant!
This palette is lovely! I am really impressed with the color payoff, but I don’t do much contouring – I wonder if these could be used as eyeshadows?!
Yes, they can! I think most of these would love lovely on the eyes! 🙂
Such a gorgeous palette! Why do you make me need all the makeup!?
haha sorry! if it makes you feel better your blog makes me want to buy all the polish in the world!
that palette is gorgeous. The price is a little steep but still… I think it would be worth it if this is the type of thing you do everyday or for your kit. 🙂 TFS
It’s also featured on Hautelook quite frequently for about half off!
thank you – I’m gonna keep my eyes open for that on Hautelook 😀
Beautiful swatches! It looks amazing and I love that they can be used as eyeshadows too.
I thought that was a cool feature too! 🙂
Great investment it seems! Love the natural look you achieved with it.
Thank you! These shades are great!
They are some amazing colours.
Aren’t they?! I’m obsessed! 🙂
It’s amazing what you can achieve with these! I love how versatile these are – definitely make that $59 price tag seem worth it!
You’re so right! There’s so many looks you can create for the face and eyes, that it makes the price not seem so bad!
Wow! This palette is very impressive, and I love how pigmented the shades are! I have added it to my list, but lordy, I already have SO many bronzers for contour!!!! Maybe Santa will bring me one…..
Hope you find it under your tree! The shades are so pigmented, but not at all powdery or messy. I’m so impressed with the formula!
This is an amazing palette! And you wear it all so beautifully 🙂
Isn’t great?! And thank you, I love playing around with new cheek colors! 🙂
