Today’s post is all about my go-to fall lipsticks! Even though the temperatures in Florida are still summerlike, I’m embracing my favorite month by darkening up my makeup looks. To go along with my smokey eyes and plum cheeks, I’ve been reaching for two MAC lipsticks that are perfect for fall. Plus, they’re great for achieving that trendy 90s lip that’s so popular right now. Who remembers rocking brown lips in 1998? I do!

L-R: MAC Patisserie & MAC Faux

L-R: MAC Faux & MAC Patisserie
MAC Patisserie (Lustre) – This lipstick was my very first experience with a shade that was outside of my pink nude comfort zone. It’s a lustre so the color payoff isn’t very intense, and the finish is light and glossy. The texture of Patisserie feels more like a hydrating lipgloss than a lipstick, and the color can be built up for increased intensity. Since my lips are naturally pigmented, this shade on me is one of those “your lips but better” colors. It’s subtle, but still really pretty and fall-esque. TIP – To intensify the color of Patisserie, try pairing it with MAC Whirl lipliner!

MAC Faux (Satin) – The texture of Faux is a little on the dry side, and it can drag during application, so moisturizing your lips before hand is key. The color payoff is a bit darker than Patisserie, but it’s still wearable and not intimidating. If you’re lusting after the ever so popular Kylie Jenner lip, than I suggest getting your hands on Faux! You can even darken it further by paring it with MAC Soar lipliner. *Warning* This lipstick has the tendency to settle into fine lines, which can enhance the look of rough or chapped lips.

I know these two lipsticks look nearly identical on my lips, but in the words of a true beauty junkie: I promise they’re different! 😆 If you’re looking to achieve a subtle fall lip, or you want to channel the 90s a la Kylie Jenner, then hop on over to your local MAC counter and give these two a try!
What are your favorite fall lipsticks? I’d love to know!
All items mentioned in this post were purchased by me.
Those look beautiful! I especially like Faux on you!
Thank you! Faux has quickly become a new fav! 🙂
Both of these are so pretty! MAC Midimauve is my go to 🙂
Oh, haven’t tried that one, I’ll put it on my list to swatch next time I’m at MAC!
Such pretty colours… love Patissere! I am on such a fall lippie kick right now!
I want to venture out even farther and try a vampy lip, fall makeup is so fun!
I been really into these kind of colors lately and these are really pretty.
I’m usually so boring with my lip choices (I must own 50 pink nudes that are nearly identical), but so far I’m digging these darker shades!
Awe these are so pretty on you!
Thanks hun! 🙂
These both look really fab on you! Patissere is stunning!
Isn’t it!? I can’t believe I only just discovered it!
Both of those shades look fabulous on you 🙂
Thank you! xo
Both look gorgeous on you but I’m partial to Patisserie! So pretty!
It’s such an effortlessly beautiful lipstick, it’s my fav too! 🙂
Both look very subtle and pretty on you, gorgeous!
Thanks so much! xo
I have yet to really get into a lot of MAC products…don’t know why exactly, but I think I will have to make more of a point to do so. Great post!
Just a warning, once you start you won’t be able to stop! LOL My wallet liked me much better before I discovered the amazingness of MAC 😉
Gurl, I can see they’re different 😉 Brown has always been my go-to color for as long as I remember. I am pretty adventurous with my lipsticks, but my everyday/go to work shade is a L’Oreal brown shade that I’ve worn for YEARS (Resilient Raisin)!!!! It used to be Extreme Spice, but they discontinued the line, and the panic that ensued was horrid! But the new line had a reasonable dupe.
Ohh, I’ll have to look into that one too! I haven’t dabbled with browns since my high school days back in the late 90s/early 2000s. But, I must say I’m loving this 90s lip re-vamp! 🙂
